What is the Life Expectancy of a Mesothelioma Patient?

As with any disease or serious illness, the time a person has to live after diagnosis varies.  On average, persons who have been recently diagnosed with mesothelioma, live about 12 months to 18 months.  This is generally because symptoms appear so late that once they do appear, the cancer has already taken over a large portion of the lungs, abdomen, and chest.  Prolonging life occurs through the use of any one of the many treatments that exist today.
