Cancer
When a single cell undergoes mutations to its DNA. The cell does not mature and die, instead they reproduce rapidly and do not stop.
Carcinogenic
Substances that produce cancer or cancer growth.
Catheter
System of introducing drugs into the body through a hollow tube. Catheters are often used in injecting chemotherapy directly into major blood vessels.
Chemotherapy
Cancer treatment that uses chemical agents or drugs designed to destroy malignant cancer cells and tissues.
Chronic pain
Constant state of pain which can not be repaired. Chronic pain is associated with long-term illness and disease.
Cisplatin
Chemotherapy drug that contains platinum in its structure. Also called Platinol.
Clinical Trial
Research trial that is used to determine the effectiveness of new drugs and treatments.
Crocidolite
Fibrous material known as "blue asbestos". Crocidolite is a member of the amphible group.
CT Scan
Diagnostic imaging system that displays "cross-section" images of a desired location on the body.
