The Mesothelioma SOS Glossary - Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is a branch of the United States Department of Labor. The OSHA works to develop and enforce federal standards for occupational safety and health. The OSHA works to prevent work related injuries, illnesses, and deaths by issuing and enforcing standards within the workplace. The OSHA has brought about several significant changes within industrial safety, including enforcing guards on all moving machine parts, the requirement of workers to wear protective equipment, and laws involving the permissible exposure limit of workers to chemicals, dusts and asbestos.
