The Mesothelioma SOS Glossary - Remission
Remission is the state of absence of disease activity in patients who have chronic illness, such as cancer. Remission does not mean that the cancer has been completely cured; rather it typically refers to the response of cancer to treatment that is being administered. There are two different types of remission. Complete remission refers to the complete disappearance of the cancer after treatment. Partial remission signals shrinkage of the tumor or disease, without completely disappearing.
