Bollinger Shipyards
Bollinger Shipyards, family-owned and operated since 1946, specializes in the repair, conversion and new construction of a wide variety of small to medium-sized offshore and inland vessels. Bollinger owns a total of 13 shipyards, located throughout South Louisiana and Texas. All are strategically located to allow easy access to the central Gulf of Mexico and the Mississippi River. In total, Bollinger Shipyards boasts 40 dry docks ranging in capacity from 100 tons to 22,000 tons.
Bollinger’s new construction shipyards are located in Lockport, Gretna, and Amelia. According to the company’s records, they have built tugs, pushboats, offshore supply vessels, fishing vessels, crewboats, offshore and inshore barges, dredges, patrol boats, lift boats, casino vessels, drilling rigs, oil skimmers, power barges, and all types of special purpose vessels. Their machine shops are state-of-the-art.
Repairs are performed at 11 of Bollinger’s 13 shipyards and each location boasts different capabilities.
During its 60 years of operations, Bollinger has employed thousands of shipyard workers. Some may have been exposed to dangerous asbestos while on the job, including workers involved in both new construction and repair. Those who worked at Bollinger prior to the asbestos warnings of the mid-1970s were especially susceptible to asbestos exposure.
If you worked at any of Bollinger Shipyards’ locations and have developed mesothelioma, you have a legal right to compensation. You’ll also want to learn more about the disease and its treatments. Order our free Mesothelioma Information Kit for more details.
