Tampa Bay Shipbuilding

Tampa Bay Shipbuilding and Repair Company is a full-service facility offering overhauls, conversions, and repairs.  Conveniently located in Tampa, FL with easy access to the Gulf of Mexico, this shipyard touts itself as the largest, most complete shipyard between Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Hampton, Roads, Virginia.

This shipyard is situated on 62 acres and offers three graving docks with 28 foot draft capabilities for ships up to 746 feet in length, and 24 foot draft for ships up to 907 feet in length.  There’s also a covered erection building measuring 600 feet long x 145 feet wide x 115 feet high, capable of 880T lifts.

Tampa Bay Shipbuilding and Repair Company is close to the Tampa Bay International Airport and is served by the CSX Railway System.

Shipyard workers who perform repairs, overhauls, and conversions often come in contact with a variety of toxic materials, especially when working on vessels that were built prior to the asbestos warnings of the mid-1970s.  If you worked at Tampa Bay Shipbuilding and Repair Company and have developed mesothelioma from exposure to dangerous asbestos, take some time to learn all the facts.  Order our free Mesothelioma Resource Kit for more information on the disease, its treatment, and your right to financial assistance.
