Montpelier School Asbestos Scare Over
In recent years, municipal school buildings have been among the leading buildings likely to contain asbestos products. For at least one Montpelier VT school however, parents can be reassured asbestos is no longer a problem.
The Main Street Middle School in Vermont’s capital was closed to the public earlier this summer when the removal of older floor tiles led to concerns over asbestos hazards from the older floor tiles.
However, Superintendant said that following renovations, the school met all air quality standards after extensive testing.
The school is once again open to the public and teachers and administrators are now preparing for the arrival of students following the summer recess.
